3. Area of Operation: The entire Brahmaputra Valley of Assam
4. Aims and objectives:
The aim of the society is to assist, promote, support, channelize, undertake charitable, social and humanitarian work, irrespective of caste, community, religion and economic status, essentially for philanthropic purposes and shall include to this end without prejudice to the generality of the aims, the following namely:
Main Objects:
To work towards the society based on the recognition of the right of every citizen of Assam to sustainable livelihood and employment and aimed at improving the quality of life and enhancing human dignity.
4.2 To create awareness among rural farmers, farmwomen and youths towards augmenting agro based productions (agriculture, horticulture, fishery, animal husbandry, poultry and sericulture ) through the use of appropriate technologies and thereby usher sustainable development and eco friendly society.
4.3 To create awareness among rural women about their rights and duties and play an active role in society building.
4.4 To train the rural women in different aspects of agro-based enterprises, home making and weaving etc. and thereby to empower them economically, socially and culturally.
4.5 To start environmental educational programme among the public and to motivate them to undertake activities to check different types of pollution and thereby to improve the environment.
4.6 To formulate different types of environmental projects and submit to appropriate authorities for sanction of funds to carry out such projects.
4.7 To take up and support relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in disaster and distress situations.
4.8 To conduct training programmes, classes, conferences, seminars, workshops, talks lectures, competitions, debates, studies and research relating to the objectives of the society.
4.9 To support publication of newsletters, journals, books to disseminate information about the state and solicit co-operation and collaborations with other agencies in building social, economic and cultural assets of the region.
4.10 To create opportunities for skill building, training and resourcing for small and cottage industries.
4.11 To support establishment of centres of learning towards social, cultural, economical and environmental sustainability.
4.12 To address issues of reproductive health, violence against women and support organizations dealing with them with a gender perspective.
4.13 To generate resources by promoting processes of corporate social responsibly, donor support, govt. and non govt. support, individual donations and through other fund raising mechanisms to implement the objectives of the society.
4.14 To open and maintain account(s) of the society in any nationalised bank to keep the fund of the society and to operate the same by authorising the president and (or) secretary of the society.
4.15 To acquire by gifts, purchase, exchange, lease or hire or otherwise any land, building, any other property movable and (or) immovable for the interest of furtherance of all or any objectives of the society and to dispose of such properties, if required in such manner as deemed appropriate.
4.16 To constitute a corpus fund to generate income sufficient to carry out the objectives of the society and to extend financial assistance by way of grants, donations, loans and other forms of contributions to institutions, civil society organizations and individuals undertaking activities and research relating to the objectives of the society.
4.17 To make rules and byelaws for the conduct of the affairs of the society and to add, amend or rescind from time to time.
4.18 All incomes, earnings, movable and immovable properties of the society shall be solely utilized and applied towards the promotion of its aims and objectives as set forth in the memorandum of association and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way dividends, bonus or profit in any manner whatsoever, to the present or past members. No members of the society shall have any personal claim on the movable or immovable properties of the society or make any profit, whatsoever by virtue of its membership.
